The IEC Symposium held on June 2^nd, in Toronto, Ontario featured presentations from key suppliers including Orbotech, Eternal and ITEQ. Over 40 attendees from 15 Canadian circuit board manufacturers nationally were represented and received leading edge product knowledge and technology road map insights from these leading organizations.

International Electronic Components Inc. (IEC) is a leading sales and service provider of consumables used in the North American printed circuit board market and will celebrate 50 successful years in 2016.  IEC USA was founded by Shawn Stone and Chuck Williams in 1998. Forces within and outside the PCB industry have led to concerns over rising prices for raw materials of copper-clad laminates (CCL). Recently, two major explosions at epoxy resin plants in China had a great impact on domestic resin suppliers. Prices have risen steadily in 2020, with leading CCL manufacturers announcing price increases of 20-30% recently. As the cost of raw materials such as electronic copper foil, resin and glass fiber have risen, the cost for manufacturing CCL has taken off as well.
